Interview the Expert: Expanding the Reach of Scientific Communication with Frauke Kreuter

As seen in a recent Pew survey, less than half of American adults consider research scientists “good communicators” (a decline in nine percentage points since 2019). The tools, motivation, and real-life examples in this article about science communication serve as catalysts for researchers and research leaders to positively influence public perceptions.
But poor science communication can distort the message if researchers and researcher leaders inadvertently engage in them! (See report by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.) For more insights, go to the special issue’s Introductory Article.
