How to manage your time when working on multiple projects?

Multitasking is unsupported by science – our mind & brain lack the structure to juggle tasks. Try 3 time management strategies instead:

  1. Identify what discrete and shared tasks are on each project. It’s possible that you can tackle similar tasks across projects, for example, when creating a project charter for each project, they may share elements that you can copy and paste.
  2. If your projects involve creative problem solving, multitasking could be beneficial because by switching between tasks, you dwell less on a single problem and focus more on making dynamic connections.
  3. Communication is a time management tool! What wreaks havoc more than a missed deadline is missed communication because it affects people dynamics and expectations. Set your team’s expectations by communicating your progress and deviations to expected timeline and alternate solutions!
