How to add sensory details in your presentation?

Human senses “receive” signals from the surroundings and sensory details from your presentation engage the audience. Try adding 3 sensory details:

  1. In all senses, eyes are considered the most reliable (heard of “eyewitness”?). That’s why in a presentation, a visual helps make the information stick.
  2. In a presentation, the most direct signal is sound. It can be as simple as slowing down or pausing to get the audience’s attention. You can also modify your volume to signal excitement or conviction.
  3. Don’t forget the unseen unheard yet unforgettable sense – the heart! Stories are the most effective tool because they help create an emotional connection to the audience. But not all stories are equal. Personal stories combined with visuals tend to evoke emotions.
