Create a safe, engaging, and respectful experience for global audiences, whether you’re using an interpreter or not, via 3 ways:
- Simplify the technology for visual aids. Not all countries and organizations whitelist (or legally allow) Google suite of tools and video-sharing sites like YouTube.
- Segment your remarks into meaningful intervals. These intentional pauses help global audience to process your words if their native language is not English. They also help integrate consecutive interpreting into your keynote, or gear up simultaneous interpreters who usually work in teams.
- Don’t try too hard! Speaking demonstrably slow, in elevated volume, or with overly animated gestures don’t help with “language barrier” with a global audience. Enunciate, not excruciate!
