How to use screen sharing to improve your online presentation?

Nothing turns the audience off more than a confused speaker! Make screen sharing work in your online presentation’s favor with 3 considerations:

  1. Know which button to push & where. They aren’t labeled the same, e.g. ‘Share Screen’ on Zoom, ‘present now’ on GoogleMeet.
  2. Don’t start your online presentation saying “let me launch my slides”. YOU are the reason people are watching, not just your slides. Immediate screenshare relegates you to a tiny thumbnail and some platforms even auto-hides you.
  3. Content is king, technology is the golden carriage! Slides/image/web/video surely stimulate audience interest; ultimately, they want a king that imparts knowledge and inspires them to reach for the stars. So only screen share (and keep it up) if it enhances your message.
