Research integrity refers to using verifiable methods, reporting honest and useful results, and upholding professional standards. Here’re 3 ways to protect your research integrity:

1. Accept feedback – What doesn’t kill you make you stronger! Mentor and peer feedback will challenge + stretch you, and at times make you feel “misunderstood”. Don’t give up – give your best shot at addressing feedback because they often help to strengthen the rigor and applicability of your research.
2. Self-evaluation. Document what was planned, the deviations (if any), as well as decisions so you can compare them against best practices. If corrections or rework must be done, do it with honor to protect your research integrity.
