Flipcharts facilitate unrehearsed interactions with the audience and build up your authenticity. Here’re 3 considerations:
- Visibility works best for a smaller group (20 max) and conference room. If onstage, use flipcharts to highlight a graphic or a vocabulary.
- Write in bullet point style (longer is harder to read or write legibly). If you knew you’d be using something like an idea tree to organize the information, you could have a pre-printed/drawn outline to save time.
- Test all the markers! You’d be surprised how often they streak or just don’t work. Most flipcharts these days use heavy weight paper so they shouldn’t “bleed”, but when in doubt, skip every other page.
